- I've been trying to learn the parentage of my father for many
years now. He was adopted by William GRINNELL and his wife, Rachael
A PHILLIPS of Revena in 1879, shortly after his birth. These records
are still sealed and the Probate Judge has refused to open them for
me, even after 120 years! I was hopeing that someone, somewhere had
written in a diary about the adoption and will share it with me.I
also was adopted but we always kept in touch with William P.Grinnell
and about 30 years ago we reunited. My siblings and I are now great
friends and are helping me with as much as possible. W.P.G. put some
historical items in the Western Reserve that belonged to his father,
a Civil Ward Diary was one interesting item. Thanks for all that you
do on the Webb, it's great to live 2000 miles away and be able to
share. Jean Amster-Tucson, Az

- Iam trying to trace my 4th great grandfather Lyman Pierce
STREATOR who was born February 19, 1819 in Portage Co. Ohio. At the
age of 22 he moved to Washington Co. Pennsylvania and became a
Pastor. His father was Alphues STREATOR and his mother was Orilla.
In my search, I came across the name Lydia B. STREATOR. She married
a DeLong. Does anyone know if this Lydia is related to Rev. L.P.
STREATOR? My grandfather was James B. R. the 4th. I wonder if the B.
in Lydia's name is the same B. carried down from one gener- ation to
the next.
