MCKELVEY,
MOTT
posted by
Nancy Mott Lawson on Saturday, October 2, 1999
- Looking for grave of Ezekiel Mott (d. 8 Jan 1825) in Deerfield
Twp., Portage Co., Ohio. Would expect he would be buried in
Deerfield Cemetery. I believe Mottown Cemetery did not exist until
1879 therefore too late for him to be buried there. Also looking for
grave of Jane McKelvey Mott (d. 16 Nov. 1838). She was wife of
Ezekiel. Ezekiel and Jane came to Deerfield in 1807. He was a
Revolutionary War soldier. I am coming to Portage Co. (from Chicago)
at Thanksgiving. Hoping to photograph all family head and foot
stones.

JOHNSON,
RICHARDSON posted by
Jack
Richardson on Saturday, October 16, 1999
- LYMAN RICHARDSON of Portage County, Ohio is buried in Kent,
Ohio. He died Jan 13, 1892. He had been married to Nancy nee Johnson
in May 1837, and had 7 or 8 children. Lyman disappeared from records
for over 35 years, from 1856 to 1892, where was he? Also, where in
Massachusetts or Connecticut was he born? Who were his parents?
Lyman's burial record says he was 78 at time of death, if this is
correct, he was born between Jan 1813 and Jan 1814. He and Nancy are
in the 1850 census as a family with 7 children, this record shows he
was born in Massachusetts. But we have no proof that he ever came
from there. I need your help.

BOOSINGER,
PHIPPS
posted by
Deronda Phipps on Thursday, October 21, 1999
- I am looking for information on the PHIPPS and BOOSINGER
surnames. Susan Boosinger born April 3, 1820 in Brimfield, OH. I
have found an IGI Record which gives Susan Boosinger married James
Phipps on Sept. 24, 1848 in Summit, OH. My husbands great Uncle
Orson Phipps was born 1858 in Summit Co., OH and is buried in
Morenci, Lenawee Co., MI, which is where my husband's grandfather
was born. Also buried in this same cemetery is Susan Phipps born
April 3, 1820 "Bumfield, OH". My husbands father told me that James
Phipps' spouse was "Sally Bussinger". After finding Conrad Boosinger
in the Portage/Summit area I came to the conclusion that her name
was not Sally Bussinger but Susan Boosinger, that is when I was able
to locate the IGI Record showing her marriage to James Phipps. I
also found a Susan Boosinger married Sept. 9, 1846 to a John Cobb in
Portage Co., OH. (This may be the same Susan, perhaps John Cobb died
and she married second to James Phipps). Parentage is not given for
Susan Boosinger, however I feel she is of the correct age to be a
daughter to a son of Conrad Boosinger b. 1752. I am very excited
about this information, anything that you can add would be greatly
appreciated. Sincere Thanks, Deronda Phipps
