She was born in Ohio 1837. She was not in their family in the in the 1840 census for Franklin Township, but was in the 1850 census. Does anyone know who were her parents? Mariah married William H. Colton of Rootstown.

He married Margaret Thompson the daughter of Asa Thompson and Sally (Locke0 10-11-1848 in Portage County. Almost immediatly they moved to Ottawa County, MI. There they ahd the follwing children. George b. 1850; Alfred E. b. 1851; Arthur E. b. 1854; James M. b. 1857 and Emma E. b. 1861. At the time of his wife's death the children lived in the following places. George , Kalamazoo County, MI(md Allie Stage, dau. of Nicholaus Stage and Julia Post); Alfred, Minnesota, Arthur Idaho; James, Washington State; Emma, Idaho. I am not sure if Emma was married, no mention is made of a spouse. I am trying to find Olivers parents. I have traced Margaret Thompson's line through her father and mother.
